In 1979, Jim Regan started practicing law in a small office within a stone's throw of the beautiful Pacific Ocean. The office, located in Redondo Beach, is in Los Angeles County only a few miles from the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). His first major client was an international company with offices around the world. The law firm has grown carefully and methodically to build on that beginning with a staff that has expanded the firm's practice into other areas. Today, the firm's practice, in addition to international law, includes business litigation, personal injury, family law, real property, wills, trusts and probate, immigration, and criminal law. We are located in our own building in Redondo Beach, California, with five attorneys, four attorneys of counsel, and an affiliated firm in Las Vegas, Nevada. Our attorneys are licensed for general practice before state, federal courts, and administrative agencies in the State of California. Members of the firm are active in local and national bar associations, pro bono work, and various national, state, local, civic, and political organizations.
While having engaged in a very active litigation practice involving complex international law, business, family and criminal matters, the firm's goal has always been to provide quality legal service in a prompt and courteous manner at a reasonable fee. We recognize that each of our clients expects and deserves personal attention from their attorney. The firm requires continuing professional development for all partners and associates. We are dedicated to performing legal services to our clients consistent with the highest required principals of law, ethics, and the expectations of the courts.
We recognize that it is important to everyone that they enjoy close personal contact with their attorney. When you call to speak to one of our lawyers, you are entitled to speak directly to your personal lawyer. Unless your lawyer is on the phone, in a conference, or out of the office, your call will be answered immediately. If your lawyer is not available to speak with you, your call will be returned in the same business day provided your lawyer is not out of town on other matters. It is not unusual for the firm's lawyers to return phone calls in the evening hours.
The law firm is proud of its policy of providing free or minimal fee initial consultations to its clients. During the initial consultation, we will discuss the clients' legal rights, the nature of the legal services to be provided, and the basis for the legal fees and costs that may be involved in the case. At any time during our representation, our clients are encouraged to immediately make us aware of any concerns regarding fees and services. Each month, our firm sends a detailed monthly invoice which acts like a monthly report for services rendered.
The firm's fees may vary according to the nature of the services provided and the representation expected. Before a client is responsible to pay any legal fees, the lawyer and the client discuss the fee to be charged and all costs associated therewith and the manner of payment expected. For legal services over $500 each client is provided with a written contract for their records and future reference. This contract sets forth the services to be rendered and the exact fees and method of payment required. We offer a variety of payment plans and accept most major credit cards.
We consider our law firm to be professionally responsive to each client's legal needs and will continue that high standard of consultation and service.
